Io's Work Christmas Party

I know I have gotten really bad about updating my blog. I am making a new year's resolution (early) to be better at it. Thanks Kaitlin and McKenna, and Tifani S. (a little while ago) for the nudge!! :) I have lots to catch up on and I think that it became overwhelming to have to catch it up. So I will catch up when I can and post new things too!

Me and Io went to his Christmas work party last week. It was nice to have a night out with just the two of us. That hasn't happened in a really, really, really long time. It is nice to have my mom here to help us out when we need someone to watch the kids. THANKS MOM!!

The morning started out with me seeing (on T.V.) that the promo team from PCC was in town and performing at South Town Mall that evening. I called Io and, of course, he wanted to go!! :) It was good to see old friends there and watch some of the new night show. It looks like an amazing show!! We also got to see Jen, Addy, and Brynn there too! An extra bonus!!!
We left there and went to Io's work party at his school. They had a yummy dinner at the school and then at the end, they gave all of the employees a ham and $50.00. It was really nice. We know, without a doubt, that he is working where he is supposed to be working. We have been shown this time and time again. They really care and appreciate the job that their employees do.

FOR JOURNALING PURPOSES ONLY: The "big" boss at the school literally tracked me down (I mean he went to our table and asked Io where I was and he told him that I was over talking to Josephine and he came over there) to tell me what a good job Io does. He said that Io is an amazing teacher and that they love having him there and that he really makes and impact in the lives of the kids. I thought that was really nice of him to let ME know that, but I already knew everything he told me! :)

Matai turns 2!!!!

Matai's birthday was on July 30th. My baby turned two! Times flies, doesn't it? We weren't going to do anything because he didn't know the difference and funds were low. But then I just kept imagining him at the age of 10 wondering why 'Aisea had a second birthday party and he didn't get one. So I decided to do a very small one. In fact, we did it when Cody and Tanner were here, just so there could be other kids in the pictures! LOL We just got cake and ice cream and I think Cody and Tanner were glad we didn't do it before they got here. :)

P.S. Dad was helping me to get Matai to smile! LOL
We went to get the cake. I showed Matai several different ones, but when I showed him this one, he started pointing and jabbering in a really high pitch. So I assumed he wanted this one. I thought he did a really good job of picking it out!
Tanner and his soon to be brother.....aka.....Cori's tummy. LOL
'Aisea and Cody enjoying their cake and ice cream.

All and all, I think it is safe to say that he enjoyed the party, Even if he didn't realize it was all for him!!!!

Cousins come to visit!!

Cori and the kids came to Utah for a visit! My boys are so excited that they are here. They just love to play with Cody and Tanner!
Matai
'Aisea and Cody
And folks, it has begun........the fake smile! How long will it last until I get his pretty smile back????
No fake smiles for Cody~!
These two love to play together.
Look at little Dennis, I mean......Tanner! LOL He is so cute and he does look a lot like Dennis did as a baby! We are having fun having them here to play with!

The T.V.

Watching T.V. is one of Matai's favorite things to do. We have to make sure there are plenty of educational video's to watch for this reason. We have one leap frog video that he loves. From that, if you show him a letter, he can tell you the sound it makes!

The computer!~

'Aisea loves to play on the computer. More than likely you find me, Ioane and him fighting over who gets to use it! LOL Time for another computer in the house, don't ya think???
He loves to play on PBS Kids, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse website, Nick kids, watch video's of rockets and volcanos on youtube and (his very favorite) play farm town with Mimi and Poppy! LOL
That is what he is doing in this picture. I think it is funny how he is only four and can balance the phone on his shoulder so that he can have his two hands free to play! That's my boy!

Is there some sort of club I don't know about?????

Tinney/Tongi Family Christmas

As I mentioned before, we all got to meet up in Oklahoma (at Dale and Amy's) for Christmas.  It was crazy, fun!
Santa actually knew we were there and left presents for 'Aisea and Matai.  Of course, he got Sea some rockets.
And he got Matai a shopping cart.  He is going through a "I love to push things" stage.
Poppy brought everyone a model rocket, so we launched them while we were there.  Unfortunately, me and mom weren't there because we had to take Matai to the doctors office.  he had an ear infection.  Both him and Tanner got them over the holiday.
Mimi was nice enough to make sugar cookies with the grandkids (that were old enough).  They enjoyed making them and we all enjoyed eating them!
I love this picture of Mimi and Poppy with all of the grandkids.  Mom and Dad had the sweatshirts made.  They said Tinney Family Christmas 2008 on them.  Cute!  I wear mine all the time!
It was a fun Christmas.  Our family is growing by leaps and bounds.  Before you know it, we won't be able to all fit into one house.  What will we do then?

Oklahoma Bombing Memorial Site

We went to Dale and Amy's house for  Christmas this year.  They have a new, beautiful home and we all wanted to see it, so we spent the holidays there.  Every time we go to Oklahoma to see them, I want to go to Oklahoma City and see the bombing site, but we never made the time.  This time, we were meeting our good friends, the Hunts, there and what better to do with them than this?   We couldn't have picked a windier, colder day, but it was definitely worth the visit!

A little about the memorial.........It sits between two walls.  The first one says 9:01.  This is the time it all began.
Here is all the family listening to the guide tell the story.
Each chair represents someone who died.  The small chairs represent the children that died in the daycare center that was located inside the building.
9:03 is the time it all stopped.  It still amazes me what wicked people live in this world.  And this was small compared to 9-11.  Still makes me sad and sick to my stomach to think about it.  If you are ever in Oklahoma City, it is definitely worth the trip to see this.  They have a museum that is awesome right next to the memorial too.  So glad that we finally took the time to go.
Here is a picture of the Hunt family.  We love you guys!

The Ward Christmas Party

At the ward Christmas party, the primary kids put on the Christmas story.  It was cute and 'Aisea got to be one of the angles.
There were many angles, each one special! :)
After dinner, Santa came to visit the kids.  Matai was NOT digging Santa!!
He'd better learn real fast to be nice the big guy........he's the one with all the loot!!!

Road to Skinny Week #10 and #11

So two weeks ago I gained 2.2 lbs.  (It was THAT time) Not that I am making excuses for myself!!  This past saturday I had lost 3 lbs.  Total to date.....I've lost 23.6 lbs!  I have lots more to go, but I really, really think I can do it!  I wish it would stop snowing so that I could get the stroller and boys out and start going for walks/runs with them. (we'll work up to the run!)

Someone had a birthday...Shout Hooray!!

Ok.......so his birthday was way back in December, but better late than never, right?
This was the day before I had my little 10 lb 12 oz baby boy!  I had a rough pregnancy and then an even rougher delivery, so I thought for sure he was going to be the best baby ever.  I mean, I had paid my dues, right?  WRONG!!
There is story to this picture.  I'll have to tell it in another post.
He was a horrible baby!!  Vouch for me Kaitlyn!!!  Was he not crying ever minute of every day for like two months?? When I say cry, I mean, scream like he was in pain.  When he was three weeks old we were in the hospital for a week to try and find out what was wrong with him.  All they came up with was acid reflux.  He continued to scream for the next two months even with his medication!  It was fun good times!!
He did finally become a happy baby.  Here are a few pictures of him as he grew!

After we left Hawaii in 2005, we went back and stayed the summer with Kim.  'Aisea loves to swim and I worked that summer at the pool, so we got free swimming lessons.  Jack Johnson and his son just happen to be in our class!  We love him!

Working in the yard with Mimi, Mom and Dad!
 Easter 2007

First day of pre-school 2008

I love this picture of him because it just sums my little boy right up.  He LOVES rockets and space.  It is what you will find him playing 90% of the time and when he's not playing rockets, he's usually talking about them.
I can't believe how fast he has grown up!  Where does the time go?
