Interesting things at the zoo!

I was at the zoo a few weeks ago with my friend Kim, when all of a sudden we saw a lady who must have been trying to fit in with the Peacocks!!!!! My pictures aren't that good because I didn't want to be TOO obvious (although I think her daughter knew what me and Kim were doing). I have two pictures of her and Kim has one posted on her account here. I know I shouldn't make fun of people.....it's not nice! I will say she was a pretty lady, but sometimes I just don't understand the whole "Utah" hair thing. They think it is still the 80's out here. And those of you who have ever lived/visited here know what I'm talking about. I just don't get it, look how high her hair is in the blurry picture!

Sorry the pictures aren't that great, but hopefully you get the idea! The other thing I have to comment on is another day when I was leaving the zoo, I saw this:

The mother and father were both unloading the stroller and an infant while the father had put (I'm guessing at the ages) this two and three year old on the top of their SUV to wait for them. I was scared to death that one of them was going to fall/jump off the top! It's another bad picture, but I had to take it over my shoulder without looking! This mother also had like four nasty huge hickies (sp?) on her neck. If we were in the south, I would have called them a bunch of hicks! Get it.....the hicks with the hickies!!! LOL Gosh I'm funny............Just kidding!!!

Oh I almost forgot! While we were at the zoo the giraffes were getting a little frisky!!!! There were several schools there on field trips! Me and my friend Jen were the "mature grown-ups" standing there laughing our heads off!!! Thank goodness our kids were too young to understand what was going on and too young to ask questions! :)

Matai Has Had TOO Much!

The other day I took the boys to the zoo and then to Jen's to play at her park. This is what happens when Matai has just had TOO much!

I love it that kids can fall asleep at any time and anywhere! It is the cutest thing to me! Aren't his shirt and shorts so cute. Yep, Wal-Mart special baby! $4.50 for the top and $4.50 for the shorts! Gotta love it!
While at Jen's I had some major chapped lips, so Jen gave me some chap stick to put on. I was waiting for 'Aisea to use the bathroom when I put it on and then while I was helping him wash his hands, I looked into the mirror and this was what I saw.........the whitest lips ever!! And I had caked this stuff on because my lips hurt so bad!! Me and Jen got a good laugh out of it, but she didn't know because she had never used it before.
I didn't take it off because my lips hurt so bad, but I was leaving Jen's to go meet Kim at Costco and go to dinner, so I made a mental note to wipe it off when I got there. Now I pose this question............What good is a mental note when you have NO brain???
So I got to Costco and had to wait a bit for Kim to get there. In the process, I forgot to wipe off my chap stick. When Kim gets to Costco, after being there for a bit, I remembered that I forgot to wipe it off. I ask Kim......"why didn't you tell me that I had white lips?" She says......"I thought you knew about it." LOL Not exactly my style!!

Hair cuttin' Leah

Leah came over on Sunday and cut 'Aisea's hair and shaped up mine.  I needed some style and Tay (the girl who has done my hair ever since Hawaii) is about to have a baby and miserable.  Sea is good when he gets his hair cut at a shop, but Sunday he was such a wiggle worm.   Partly because he is just the most active kid ever and partly because the hair was making him itch.  But Poor Leah had to cut his hair on her knee's!  She's a trooper!
I only took a picture of the back because the front still looks the same.  I just had her stack the back a little.

List of Excuses!

I have to apologize for being gone for so long.....I have several excuses, so here they go:

1. It's earth week this week and on the news I saw that they were challenging all families to turn things off and get outside. This means computers, TV's, Video games.....etc. So I thought I'll take that challenge for my kids. Then I realized that in order for them to be outside, I have to be with them which in turn takes me away from everything too!! But we have just been outside or out doing things all week long from the Children's Museum to the Zoo to just going to the park! It's been fun because the weather has been really nice! But today it is raining/snowing (yes I said snowing!!!) so all bets are out the window today! 'Aisea is watching a Thomas the train video and Matai is playing with a petrified piece of pizza right now..........I know ..........I'm a good mom, I am!!

2. I made the silly mistake the other night of showing 'Aisea that you could play "video games" on Disney.com. He has been hooked ever since, so now I have to share the computer!

3. After many weeks of kind of lazily doing school work, Ioane has decided that he needs to get his butt in gear and really start doing his school work hard core........so there is another person I have to share with!! Dangit!!

4. My comptuer's CD/DVD player was broken for the second time and I had to take it to get it fixed, so for a little bit, I didn't even have a computer! But on the plus side, I'm going to make all the CD's for people who wanted one and get them sent off very soon!

So these are all of my excuses!! Hope one works for you and I'll try and be much better about posting!!!!

The "Y" Genereation

Because I thought this was sooooo true, I borrowed this from my friends Kirsten's blog! Thanks Kirsten!!

In its January 22, 2008 edition, the Quebec City newspaper, Le Soleil, had a topic about generations by age group.Generations are grouped as follows:-The Silent generation, people born before 1945.-The Baby Boomers, people born between 1945 and 1961.-Generation X, people born between 1962 and 1976.-
Generation Y, people born between 1977 and 1989. Why do we call the last one generation Y?

This drives me crazy, when I see people who's pants are about to fall off of their butts. It bothers me even more when I can see their underwear or butt cracks!! Yuck!!! I don't want to see that .......just keep it to yourselves!!!! And how can it be comfortable when you have to hold your pants up when you walk or keep pulling them up. I just don't get it!!!

You're Welcome, Leah!

In the spirit of taking self portraits and since Leah was complaining that I don't have enough pictures of her on my blog (not that she has very many of me either, but whatever!)! I decided to post some of these very flattering pictures that we took with my computer back in Georgia!! This is just one reason why you should buy a Mac! I love mine!!!

My blog cheered someone up!

[CheerUpAward.jpg]

I got another award and I have to say, "It feels like the first time!" I got it last week and I'm just now getting around to posting about it because I had such an eventful week last week. Sorry Amanda ! It's not that I'm unappreciative!!! Thank you very much for giving this award to me. I am so happy to know that my blog has cheered someone up on occasion!
She talked a little about her blogging experience so I thought I would do the same. Although, if you go to her blog and read about her experiences about feeling lonely.......she describes my life to a tee!!! My friend Kim was the one who started a blog. I had heard of blogging, but had no idea what it was. So, for a bit, I watched what she did. It didn't take long before I KNEW that I had to have one too.
I love blogging. It has helped me to rekindle friendships, start new friendships, and keep in touch on a daily basis with those that I love. I love that I get to talk about anything and everything that is on my mind and people actually enjoyed hearing (or in this case reading) about it. And I love that my parents can feel a little more apart of my children's lives by seeing updated pictures and video's of them all the time and read about what they are doing these days!! I also love that I have a journal now. I've always been horrible about keeping one and now it is so easy for me. I could even print it out if I wanted to, although I can't remember what the name of that site is right now. (If you know, could you leave it in your comments please!)
So anyways......onto who I am going to award this award to. If you get it you are supposed to send it to 10 other people who's blogs have cheered you up! Oh and I gave it to those who haven't gotten it already from Amanda!

Congratulations everyone!!!

Amanda.....here's to you!!

So I went a little crazy with the self portrait thing that Amanda challenged us to do.  So....sorry you have to look at so many pictures of just plain ol' me!   Try and enjoy!!!!!
This was one of the pictures I took to give to "The Biggest Loser" people.

This, like I promised, was when I forgot that I was in video mode.

Here I am with my second chin.

And here I am doing the giraffe neck!

In the others I forgot my lip gloss, so in this one I have it on!  I also seem to have a few stray hairs!  Oh well!

Update on the car

So Kim came to my house yesterday on her lunch break and jumped my car so that I could take it to firestone. (thank you Kim, you're forgiven for not answering my phone call on Wednesday night.......LOLOLOLOL :) ) They told me there that they won't even look at it because most newer cars have a device in them that drains the battery after the airbag has been deployed and that even if they put a new battery in my van that more than likely it will just be drained by this device again.  So he advised me to take it to the dealer and get the airbag fixed.
I had already called to see how much it would cost to fix the airbag and the guy at the dealership told me $1500!!!!  What???? That is more than my van is even worth!! (Little nervous breakdown had here)
So thank heaven's Kim's boss works on cars.  So she called him and asked if there was anything else I could do.  He told her that he didn't know if this would work, but that I could try taking the fuse that goes to the airbag out and see if it would stop draining the battery.  I couldn't find the fuse, so I stopped and asked my good friends at Auto Transmission in West Jordan and he did it for me.  He said he wasn't sure if it would work either.
So I'm here to say that it is the next day and my van starts!!!!  I hope that it continues to keep starting!!  Pray for us!!  YAY!!! :)  We have been blessed!!!!

Drama

You know just when you think things are going pretty smooth ( and by smooth, I certainly don't mean perfect ) something comes along and slaps you in your face.  In our case this literally happened to Ioane.  Let me begin at the beginning!
Tuesday night, Matai wakes up crying, which isn't unusual, except this time he was up crying from 3-6am.  THAT is not normal.  Then Sea wanted an inu (drink) at 7am and then Matai got up again at 8am.  I didn't go to bed until 12am (I know, stupid me) so I was exhausted!!
All of yesterday he was fine, so we don't know what was wrong with him.  Maybe teething or an upset stomach or something.
I was supposed to drive Ioane to a conference downtown and then go spend the day with my friend Jen, but I was too tired to do anything.  So I gave Io directions, said a little prayer (he's not used to driving downtown) and sent him on his way.  He made it there just fine and the day seemed to be going okay because I even got 'Aisea to lay down and take a nap.  (Not an easy task these days)  Then I woke up from my nap and the sad times began. (Okay....I'm being a little dramatic here)
First of all before I go any further with my story let me just tell you a couple things.  I am soooooo grateful that my husband is okay and nothing REALLY bad happened to him.  I don't know what I would ever do without him!!!
And then, as most of you know, we only have ONE car that we share between the two of us.
Here is a picture of this car that has driven us mad over the past few years!  It has been good to us, but it has also been really bad to us too!

So anyway.....on with the story.  I wake up from my nap and Ioane is sitting on the couch with his lips swollen  and a bruise on his chin.  He tells me that he was in an "accident"  then says....well not an accident, but I was driving downtown and I was doing about 45-50 miles per hour.  All of a sudden, I see a rock in the road.  There were cars on both sides of me so I had no choice but to hit it.  When I did "the bag popped out of the honker" (translation:  The airbag deployed from out of the horn/steering wheel...LOL)   I asked him about how big the rock was and he holds up his hands to show me.  So from what he showed me it was about the size of a cantaloupe.  He tried to call me eight times, but I was at home enjoying my nap and never heard my phone ring, so he called my mom.  She was able to talk him through it.
Here is a picture of him when he got home.  Thank goodness!

Now my husband does have pretty full lips, but not usually THIS full.  Poor guy!  He said his face was numb for awhile from the airbag!
So, he was able to drive the van home and then he had to go to our apartment's front office too and was able to drive the van there.  But don't you know that as soon as I need some cole slaw for my slaw dogs for dinner and have to go to KFC to get some.........It won't start!!!!  I just break down in the car.  I'm bawling hysterically because well lets just face it......we're poor!!!!  And I'm just stressed!  So I called a some people, who never answered their phones.......I won't mention any names (Kim and Mom).  So I had to unload all of my stress onto Leah.  I come back upstairs and Io calls Leah to see if she would come jump the car.  She, being the gracious soul she is, came right away.  We got the van running last night and then went to go get dinner and then came back and checked and the car still had power.  But to no avail, we woke up this morning to a dead car!!!
So I have to go get it fixed.  More money that we don't have.  How are we ever supposed to get out of debt when stuff like this seems to happen all the time to us???  Anyway.....thanks for letting me complain to you!!
Oh and one more picture of our "honker"  LOL.
And P.S.  The "honker" no longer works!

Magic Trick

Ioane was doing "magic" with 'Aisea the other night. He would make the candy that Sea has "disappear". (No, Io didn't make it disappear in the same way that Sea makes it disappear, but it is where Sea gets the sound effects from)! This was Sea's version of magic that he would then do back to his dad!! This boy cracks me up!!

Matai Playing with Daddy

Okay..... you can watch this one if you want to, but it is mostly for Mimi and Poppy! I mean who else really WANTS to watch my son laughing for two minutes. Pretty much only Grandparents! And maybe Jami Weight since she wants to "eat his little cheeks off" LOL.

When you're away the mice will play!

I had to go to the bathroom yesterday and I swear it was for only two minutes and when I came back, this is what I found!!

Aramie, those are my recycle walmart bags!!

They were just having a blast in them. I went ahead and let them play in them until 'Aisea decided it would be fun to put one on Matai's head. NO MORE BAG PLAYING!! LOL

BYU-Hawaii BBQ

We had a BBQ on Saturday with some old BYU-H friends. We had a fabulous time and got to see people and family that we hadn't seen in a long time. So thanks Kaitlin and Josh for allowing us to use your home and for going out of your way to plan these things. We appreciate it!!!!
I didn't get to take pictures until late, so this is all I got. Gosh, I can't believe this was ALL that I got!!! There were so many more people there. I suck!!!

Must be doin' something right!

[award5.jpg]

I got another award. Probably just because I tend to live on my blog!!! Thank you, Kim, for getting me started!! Thank you Gigi for the award, I'm honored.
Here are the rules : ""Pass the award on to five blogs that make you laugh, cry, think or sigh." So, I pass this award on to the following:
Don't forget to pass this on. The last time I gave out awards, not one person put them on there websites and passed them on or gave an acceptance speach!!! LOL (Except for Tifani) :)

PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, this goes out to ANYBODY who looks at my blog and can help me out. I have had to put myself on a budget which means.......NO MORE EATING OUT!!!! How will I ever live? I don't know. Hopefully you can help me!
If you have any dinner recipes that are inexpensive, yummy and fairly easy.....Please share them with me!! I'm tired of the same ol' thing. Thank you in advance for helping me out!
I'm going to put a link to this post on the side of my blog so that you can get there easier then scrolling down and finding it as I go on!

Perfect.....NOT me!

I stole this off of my dear friend Kim's blog. I love it, but sometimes I feel like this is reality for some women in the church. Not me though!!!

The Girl in a Whirl by 'Dr. Sue' (a.k.a. Vickie Gunther)

Look at me, look at me, look at me now!
You could do what I do if you only knew how.
I study the scriptures one hour each day;
I bake, I upholster, I scrub, and I pray.
I always keep all the commandments completely;
I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.
I help in their classrooms! I sew all they wear!
I drive them to practice! I cut all their hair!
I memorize names of the General Authorities;
I focus on things to be done by priorities.
I play the piano! I bless with my talents!
My toilets all sparkle! My checkbooks all balance!
Each week every child gets a one-on-one date;
I attend all my meetings (on time! never late!)
I'm taking a class on the teachings of Paul,
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all!
I track my bad habits 'til each is abolished;
Our t-shirts are ironed! My toenails are polished!
Our family home evenings are always delightful;
The lessons I give are both fun and insightful.
I do genealogy faithfully, too.
It's easy to do all the things that I do!
I rise each day early, refreshed and awake;
I know all the names of each youth in my stake!
I read to my children! I help all my neighbors!
I bless the community, too, with my labors.
I exercise and I cook menus gourmet;
My visiting teaching is done the first day!
(I also go do it for someone who missed hers.
It's the least I can do for my cherished ward sisters.)
I chart resolutions and check off each goal;
I seek each "lost lamb" on my Primary roll.
I can home-grown produce each summer and fall.
But that is not all! Oh, no. That is not all!
I write in my journal! I sing in the choir!
Each day, I write "thank you's" to those I admire.
My sons were all Eagles when they were fourteen!
My kids get straight A's! And their bedrooms are clean!
I have a home business to help make some money;
I always look beautifully groomed for my honey.
I go to the temple at least once a week;
I change the car's tires! I fix the sink's leak!
I grind my own wheat and I bake all our bread;
I have all our meals planned out six months ahead.
I make sure I rotate our two-years' supply;
My shopping for Christmas is done by July!
These things are not hard; 'tis good if you do them;
You can if you try! Just set goals and pursue them!
It's easy to do all the things that I do!
If you plan and work smart, you can do them all, too!

It's easy!" she said, and then she dropped dead.

And the winner is......

So I am copying from other peoples blogs because I'm not creative enough to come up with my own stuff.  So from Amanda's blog, I got the idea to have the contest and the idea to have my son pull the winning name.  Thanks Amanda!!
Congratulations Tifani!!!!  You can let me know what you like/dislike and I can see what I can do.....i.e.  I don't want to buy anything with nuts if you don't like nuts!!

And from another contest that I was in, from this blog, I got the idea to send out a consolation prize! So for every one who did not win, if you EMAIL me (please don't leave your address in the comments) I will send a mix CD that I have made.  I can't promise that you will like the music, but hey it's free!  Give it a try!

This is only open to the twelve people who actually put their name in for the contest!

For those who don't know my email address......all you have to do is click on the little envelope at the bottom of this post and that will send you comment to my email!  Thank you all who played!!!!

I'm a winner, No, not a weiner!!!

[excellent1award.jpg]
Gosh, I've never received an award before!! Well, unless it was church related and those you had to work for and were not really a surprise. (I like surprises!)
First, I'd like to thank God, (begins to cry) without him I wouldn't be on this earth and in a position to receive such an awesome award. :)
Second, I would like to thank my family for sacrificing time with me so that I can take time to blog. I love you!!! (Blows a kiss)
Third, I would like to thank Amanda for recognizing my talents and hard work and for giving me this award!! (crying so hard I can't speak for a minute)
And fourth, I'd like to thank all of my fans that read my blog and leave comments. Without you it wouldn't be nearly as fun. (Hits chest and throw out the "peace out" sign)

Ok now, seriously, I really do feel special that Amanda gave me this award. So thank you!! So she said the only rule is that you pass it on. So I just have to say that I'm going to pass it on and don't get offended if you didn't get picked. I couldn't give everyone one......so here was the criteria that I went by:
1. You have to post VERY often and these people post almost every day or everyday!
2. You have to comment on my blog VERY often. That's it. And the winners are:
Kim: You update as much as I do and I love reading your blog, unless it's about yodelling pickles or redneck friends! :)
Aramie: Even though you have just started really blogging, I appreciate the fact that you have started posting everyday. I enjoy reading what you write!
Gigi: You update your blog with something fun to read everyday and you leave great comments and you even send out additional emails....way to go the second mile!
Tifani: I know we have never met, but I feel like I know you and I'm glad that we have mutual friends that have brought us together to be "blogging buddies". You leave the most wonderful comments and I enjoy your blog also.
And last but not least I have to send it back to Amanda because I absolutely love her blog. It makes me laugh and she always comments on mine which I am very grateful for! Thank you again!!! Much Love!

Celebrating 100 Posts!

This is my 103rd post on my blog.  To celebrate that I have reached 100 posts,  I am having a drawing (like my friend Amanda, yes I am copying her!) for something tasty from See's Candy.  I'm not sure what it will be just yet, but know that I am poor.  LOL  So I will get what I can get with what I have at that time!  You have until this Friday, April 4th, to leave me a comment with your name.  So basically I'll draw the name on Saturday.  I will then put all the names in a bowl and draw one.  Could the lucky winner be you?
Thanks to all who read my blog and especially to all of those faithful people who leave me comments and make me feel loved!! :)

P.S. I know I posted this on April 1st, but this is no Aprils Fools joke!!!
